Does anyone know any good sites with orthographic images of humans/animals/vehicles. The kind of stuff its hard to get yourself.

Thanks.

Also how would you all normaly go about setting up reference image planes for modelling cars.

Thanks guys.

http://www.the-blueprints.com/

http://www.suurland.com/

they also have a whole forum bout references and resources here.

and i usually use max so i check the dimensions of the image, if its 512 X 512 then make a plane for 512/512 or of the same ratio. apply material of the reference, and when im happy with the placement of the planes. go to the "Display" tv thing in the command panel (while the planes are selected) . uncheck "show frozen in gray" (or else the planes'll go gray) in the display properties, then click on "Freeze selected" this'll basically freeze the planes so i dont accidently keep selecting em while modelling.

and if im using maya then i just add those planes to a different layer, so that they're kept from getting selected, and also lower the transparency a bit in the material so that i can see through while modelling.

hope i've helped a bit. happy modelling.
