I thought it might be nice to get a thread of all the lightwave short films that are either already made, or in production.

I've always found short films, great for a little eye candy and inspiration.

So get those posts started!

(sticky perhaps?)

I like your style rube.

ok, here is mine, working on the site, so here is a trailer I did a while back. This has taken me too long to produce since I'm doing it in my spare time. Sometimes I think of not finishing it at all...

Nice idea for a thread. A friend and I have been working on a cartoon since almost last summer. It's very hard to keep interested, especially when there's not much time to do it in and lots of new distracting things to try out.
It's not very original at all but it's really meant as an excersise in animation for my friend who's looking for work.

It's not entirely LW either, everything is built in LW but he's using 3DSMAX for the character animation, then the characters are exported back into LW for rendering with the environs.

I really like your stuff Rube. The style is consistent, which is surprisingly hard I find.

Here's an early concept design that was done last year, mostly done as a style guide as much as a poster.
The cartoon is being rendered in passes so there's no completed stills to show just yet.

I finished my live action/CG short not too long ago... and I'm happy to say that I just won a Student Academy Award for it a few weeks ago.

I'm still trying to get a decent quality/file size of the movie... but it will eventually be ready for download.

:)

the site is still in progress... but it will be here.... www.mindscheme.com

google search:

BOKKIE: One of South Africa's nicest words, this is a term of endearment which can be applied to either sex. In literal translation it means "little buck" or "little deer", and its English equivalent is "sweetheart." When a couple walks down the road hand-in-hand, somebody may remark that they are "bokkies." If one of them is in a blue uniform and is joined to his or her companion by handcuffs, then they are obviously not bokkies.

somehow i was picturing something totally different, never heard of that nickname.

very cool nickname

Haha, honestly, I had no idea. Plus, you're far more likely to fit pblacklocks' description than a boss eyed chicken :D

I'm working on a music video now that is basicly a short film. Not much to show yet but here's a link with some renders: http://www.sad-world.com/germany/

The song is from a local band here in Portland called The Punk Group (http://www.thepunkgroup.com) (their band name is dumb on purpose).

Hello!

This short was done 2 years ago and starts showing it's age, but it was done with LW alright :-)

You can find the short on the portfolio pages in the Video Section at www.isisds.com
