Haha! Even your name is a redundant:)
Anyways, "DreamcastDC", you could start your quest for max stuff by visiting the 3ds max forums here at CgT. Nifty, huh?
[Edit]: Already moved by your friendly neighborhood moderator.
Then check out the Max Book Guide under the 3dsMax Resources sub-section which was created by yours truly.
And Leigh is correct. Rumour has it max ships with a slew of tutorials, help files, and a bunch of manuals. Those would be, just a guess now, the first things you should tackle.

Hi Liegh!
DC - I just got 3DMax 2 weeks ago, and yes, it comes with 2 tutorial books, one for Max and one for Reactor. Funny I had to buy printed manuals today for $62.00 when Max already costs so much. You would think they could add the $18 shipping of the books onto the total cost.
BTW... give www.3dbuzz.com a try, hey have about 8 hours of 3DSMAX Video tutorial's for download, for the 3DSM5 newbie.

S-to-N - I know I got Max free, so I shouldn't complain about buying the manuals:) But you should!!!

Izmal: That first link is hilarious!:D This website is a tad dated methinks!
"Warning for the impatient or those with modems slower than 28,800 bps:"
Now, that takes me back. Max ver. 1. Priceless.
Fourd: err...I'm not complaining. I have manuals. I was actually being sarcastic about the "rumour" piece.;)

No no no..:bounce: I said, You SHOULD complain, about having to pay extra for the Manuals:eek:
Max costs $3195 at it's cheapest ($3495 if you buy directly from Discreet) and then you got to pay another $62.00 if you want the manuals in print! $39.00 + $5.00 Tax + 18.00 Shipping... Doesn't that erk you! I think Discreet could eat $62 out of the the cost of Max and send print manuals with the core app. zeesh...
My Manuals were shipped this morning so I should have them by Wednesday. I hate having to use html help files, I rather dig through a book anyday.
