Everytime I see this movie version of the Punisher, he just looks like some guy in a T shirt with a chip on his shoulder. He just doesn't feel like the punisher to me. They should have incorporated the skull into a bulletproof vest.

The trailer reminds me of Max Payne/Dead to Rights..

Lame! and the guy who plays punisher is blonde, does that strike anyone as odd?

Oh well, maybe it'll be cool, the character could make a great translation to film, if they make it more dramatic and less comic. The character is tragic, and demented.

There's a direct link to download the teaser trailer and a sweepstakes to win Punisher merchandise on my site - Jurassic Punk (http://www.jurassicpunk.com/movies/thepunisher.shtml).
That way you don't have to see the Flash intro, and you can save the teaser to your hard-drive.

I watched the trailer, I did not see any blonde hair on the Punisher character...

Of course, I had to single frame it to see for sure, since the clips were so fast...

Now, the older Punisher movie, with Dolph Lundgren, had the Punisher as a dirty blonde...

But the older Punisher movie (w.Dolph) SUCKED!!!

;^p

Yeah, seems Thomas Jane has dyed his hair a bit darker. I don't see what the problem is, since you barely see anything on he trailer. What sort of butchering? Besides sometimes there need to be sometimes a few slight changes to adapt comic book characters to the big screen (Spidey organic web shooters, the modified Hulk genesis, that spandex reference in X-Men and hy the suits, etc.).

As far as the old movie, I actually liked it quite a bit. It was done in the B-movie style of the 80s. It didn't pretend to be the best thing of the summer like oh so many movies nowadays. It was fun, directed with some flair, it didn't depend on ridiculous wire work or VFX, and best of all a good dose of violence. I'm sure the new version will be santized to PG13 for our (or at least the kids) protection ;-).

Pure action movies back in the 80's were less pretentious.... They didn't pretend to be more then what they really were.

For example, I recently watched Tears of the Sun... The action felt straight out of Arnie's Commando, only with moral issues taped on top (should he save the villagers and disobey his orders, blah, blah, blah). It also tried to portray the battles as the horrible things that they are, by killing most of Bruce Willis' squad (while Willis himself was perfectly comfortable running and carrying the injured with a tourniquet on his leg)... But it wasn't really the hard hitting commentary it pretended to be in those moments... It was just a formula... Take a few Hollywood stars, add some action and mix it with a few morals and social commentary (because this is the 21st century people, and we're not barbarians)... Give me a break!
If I wanted a movie that shows war for what it is (and I do), I would watch the first half hour of Private Ryan or the excellent The Thin Red Line.

Wait a second, what were we talking about?

isn't it kind of early to judge a movie based solely on a teaser trailer?

I mean. even the Phantom Menace trailer looked good....

I wasn't judging this movie... In fact, I legally can't, because I am helping out with it's promotion.
I was frying bigger fish... Blaming all of Hollywood! :annoyed: I'm not out for vengence... I'm out for punishment!

I'm going to reserve judgement until after I see the movie. I wasn't a big fan of Dolph...but I think I just kept hearing him say "I Must Break You" the entire movie. It could be good, it could be bad. But with that small little teaser...why work yourselves up into a tissy by guessing either good or bad... calm down.

well, since there already was a movie about The Punisher, which didn't break any box office records, i wonder if this attempt would be any the same.

i'm a fan of the punisher and it's sad to say that it probably has the worst movie among all the super hero flicks.

i kinda enjoyed The Hulk, he really rock in the movie. But overall I felt that the action wasn't back to back and all the talking in between really broke the rythem of the movie.

I don' think The Punisher deserves any cheap lines, he doesn't talk much anyways........he prefers to let the bullets, grenades and his trusty M60 do the talking.........7.62 style.........LOL
