Johnny_Cannuck 06-20-2003, 08:11 PM I'm working on this scene for a student project/demo reel. Just wondering if any lighting gurus might want to pass along some wisdom.

wher are your shadows? everything is very low key... there is not enough contrast ratio, unless youare going for a washed out "matrix construct" look.
You could dimm the wall all the way at the back a little, unless that is the main "focus" of the shot. If it is then try to darken a little the edges of the tunnel, where the walls touch the ceiling and the floor.
Remember, lighting is not ment to "replicate" reality, its ment to ENHANCE the mood (tension/drama/ comedy) of a shot. Too many artist concentrate on making it look "photorealistic". I tell you there is NO MOVIE OUT THERE that uses the standard lighting of the environment they are in. They always manipulate the light. Thats why movies look and feel a lot more....."MOVIE" than your regular hand held video home movies.. ..those are photoreal.
