Hello,

has anyone used unicode characters in COFFEE? I want to use the greek characters alpha, beta and gamma in a resource file but although COFFEE is supposed to understand UTF-8 I can get only rubbish or, when using this byte-order-mark-thing an error while loading. Tried with Unipad and BBEdit

thanks,

oliver

Hi,

This doesn't seem a problem only in COFFEE resources, but in C4D's all resources.
I'm not sure this works for greek, but you could have a unicode conversion file, which can be downloaded at the 11th moon site:

http://www.c4djug.com/ (http://www.c4djug.com/japanese_res/japanese_res.html)

where japanese_res_m6302.sit for mac and japanese_res_w6302.zip for win. These files are for R6.3 but unicode should be same. Just put it in your C4D folder. This surely works for japanese, and hopefully for greek if it's really 'uni'code... :)

sorry if this isn't your purpose.

well, I'm not sure how to use this conversion file. Neither my greek characters nor the japanese one seem to work.
But thanks a lot for the clue!

Hmm...
The file can be placed in the folder where CINEMA_4D.exe is. And in my case, (forgot to say this) for Prefs > c4d_language.prf, the language is written as 'us'.
Again I'm not sure this works in your case.
