View Full Version : License Question
tomglod 12-15-2008, 06:12 PM Hi There,
I'm wondering if it is allowed to use the CS4 Trial to do some work on a student film that will be submitted to some film festivals and such.
I'm a little unclear about this ...
Thanks,
Tom

The license agreement doesn't rule out any such use, which in effect means it would be perfectly legal - everything that is not explicitly restricted, is allowed. For full details check the legal blurb here:

There must be some restrictions as it would be easy to reinstall said software over and over using the trial periods, would it not ?

Thats a given that when it expires, you have lost your right to use it.

Well, technically that's close to impossible (except if you want to run a low-level per sector formatting and re-install every time). Once the drive has been "tainted", you can reinstall as much as you want, it will not resurrect. The licensing and activation system flags your harddrive and that is that, as they say. Only inputting a valid serial will unlock this behavior.
