View Full Version : UV texture problem
CG-Gordon 06-20-2003, 02:42 PM I have just unwrapped my model to flatten the mesh so that I can can paint a texture in photoshop. Problem is, after i made the texture and then assigned it to the mesh the UV coordinates dont appear to affect the texture. i.e. the texture isn't fitting the mesh even though in the texture editor everything looks ok.
Also is there a smoothing groups type option (as seen in max) in maya?
Any advice or hints would be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.
P.s. im a beginner. :rolleyes:

For something similar to Max's smoothing groups, you can try:
Edit Polygons -> Normals -> Soften/Harden
(In the options there's also buttons to set all to Hard, and all to Soft too.)

i would post a pic of your characters uvs , from the texture editor. that might show people whats going on. are you sure all your uvs are in the 0 to 1 space?
