Here is another one part of the Human's body. The second part: hand. I made the fingers of it a bit longer knowingly. The model has no texture/bump/displacement mappings applied.

Woah! this looks great!

though one little thing, some fingerjoints on the "back" of the hand look flat? is that intentionally?

nevertheless, great stuff.

dude.. look at your own knuckles for a minute ;)
they are too.. but texturing will hide the shadows a bit methinks..

great job!

The area around the nail looks too deep, or the nail look to small across. AWESOME stuff though

Dude, you are insane:eek:

Modeling all of those folds, and creases into the hand. Absolutly awesome. I can only dream to be as good as you. You are my new god of modeling, (nealing and lowering head to floor).

Very good work as usual, I'd say that wrinkles(don't know if that's the right term) on the palm of the hand are a bit sharp.

With all these detailed parts, I wonder how many poly you'll have for the final model... probably going to be rather heavy.

keep on.

The webbing on the thumb looks slightly too high. Look at the wrinkle where the webbing starts, then compare the bottom of the web to where it is on your hand. Awesome stuff though.

I can't wait to see the ear if you plan on doing it.

hey syomka,

looking really good, i find it very hard to sculpt hands! the hardest thing in the world to sculpt!

btw : here's a hand ive been trying to finish up, i had in mind the foot you posted a few weeks ago, whilst modeling this...

Looking damn good. Seems to me that the area surrounding the nails is too thick and arguably the creases on the palm look too heavy to me.
Are these modelled on someones actual hands.. the tips of the fingers seem to taper without the slight bulge for the pad that most have but I can believe that could be the case in reality. :)

Seethemd...also good hands but don't those fingers look way too thin after you've done a double take??? :)

This work isn't pretending to be completely realizm. I created aproximated model using a different photos. To make a realistic model of a human body it is always need to be based on the one single person. In the future I plan to create 3d model of a real famous person. Right now it is only my first step.

Yes, I will

long time reader, first time poster..

First just want to say love your stuff, been following along..genius modeling..

The only thing that strikes me odd here is at the wrist, I know everyone's different and there are people with very pronounced 'boniness', but that looks a bit ouchy at a glance.

Can't wait to see the sum of all the parts!

I wouldn't say the fingers are any longer than, say, mine. Very nicely detailed :applause:

Hypercube: My wrist is even more *ouch* boney looking :p

great models!! at first i thought that the fingernails looked to sunk in...but your right not every hand is alike. are you planning to texture them??

Very nice! But I think it needs more wrinkles, but I guess that would be the texturing stage.
Otherwise love your work:bounce:

That's great.
A thought: to me the elbow area looks a little too defined, and maybe a little small. But awesome awesome stuff.

wow ow wow! Once more it's looking like a photo even without surfaces.

I will second the notion though that the elbow seems quirky. The folds seem very deep, it's sort of like an older or fatter person's elbow on a young person's arm?

Great flow and feel of the structure underneath otherwise. I am in awe as usual.

Very good work. :)
I'd tend to agree with the elbow comments and maybe the wrist a bit too wide.

Keep on. ;)

Man, that has to be the best use of polys I have ever had the privelidge to see. Not a single poly wasted or wanting. Really really masterfull work.

I think the elbow is a bit "squashed". look at 4th arm from the left. The hole hand is unifomly wide. should be wider at the elbow.

also, i think all the creases are just a bit too defined. The creases are very dittinct while the rest is very smooth. It's very cool style but detracts from the realism (which is otherwise flawless). If you're not going for straight realism than disregard this crit.

Other than the above all I have to say is...

The circles around the second knuckes are too strong. may be a result of having too much detail
in that area where as the other parts have less detail

the front of the hand looks great

Here's an interesting tid bit of info. I watched a program about the differences in the male and female sexes. One of the biggest is testosterone (sp?) of course, and a big measerment of this is in the hand.

Female hands have longer pointer fingers than ring fingers. And for male hands its the opposite. The more testosterone a guy received in development, the longer the ringer finger is than the pointer.

Thought that was kinda interesting from a modeling stand point.

That's just too cool.... I absolutely love it! All of it, the head is perfect, the foot is exquisite, and the hand rocks! I attempted to so one myself a little while ago, but would never have dreamed of going into so much detail with the model itself. You'll be left with no need for a bump map for the final model.

The head looks so full of expression already.

Love the tiny fold of skin in the second image you posted, just behind the ear, (second row of images, middle image), just as the ear touches the head. Beautiful. It's details like these that show what that extra effort can produce, and that makes me want to try harder next time. I thank you for that. It must be exciting to work on something this nice...

Umm.. I'm a woman, and I'm looking at my hands and seeing my ring fingers and index fingers are the exact same length. I sure HOPE this doesn't have a darn thing to do with hormones. :annoyed:

Syomka.... that thing is magnificent. Absolutely magnificent. Yet I can nitpick. :D The arm is much too skinny, its owner has got to be anorexic and dying, or something... she needs more meat up there near the elbow. The skin looks marvelous though, even without textures. *edit* and I'm NOT going to ask you what program/renderer you used, cause you told somebody else earlier. Heh.

Hiya.

Like the others, I'm impressed! Nice detail. The only suggestion I have is to increase the length of her "pointer" finger (the one next to the thumb). Females have longer pointer fingers than their "ring" finger (the one next to their pinky). It's the opposite for males.

Syomka: I Love your wireframe techniques, I learned of off em well!! I thank you soooo much for showing us the way (shakes your hand)

This is what I got from your theories of wireframes.. I Studied a lot of hands even looking at mine for a very long time ;) then from that point I got carried away building the body on my own.. thus studying more and more about the humans.. which is good practice, study all living things. I used arnies body as a referance for the human muscles, and other books I read and this is what I got from it man :) Not to be a suck up up or an arse kisser but, you motivated me to do a lot more then what I could ever imagined.. Now I can create anything I want in high poly works. again I thank you for showing all of us your good work and referances.

Take care Syomka.

My advice to all: You know Modeling a hand is a good Technique, you model in a relaxed position. There for the rest of a mucsle man or a woman, model him/her relaxed too, don't model it all flexed up or tensed. Model everything relaxed :)

My Character: Sumerian (needs to be textured)
