Aw, Creeto, I'm sorry to hear about your hand. You do well with your left anyway. If I lost use of my right hand, I think I'd go absolutely CRAZY for awhile. Although, when I was a little girl, I used to draw and write with both hands (I've been drawing since I was 2 :) ) but my parents made me switch to only my right. I think it's awkward to hold the pencil in my left hand, I can't draw that way anymore, which makes me a little sad. T_T I wish your hand a speedy recovery. :)

but my parents made me switch to only my right.
that's quite common i think. most parents want their children to be as "normal" as possible

most important is the connection between your default eye and default hand
i use my left eye and right hand which complicates things a bit. i was once wondering if my mom made me switch from left to right when i was little

i've only just quit.. yey
congrats!! i wish i had the strength

raradolly, I wouldn't worry about your dominance if I were you. Most children don't display a dominance until 3-4 years old and then it's fully developed by about 6 or 7. The stats are in your favor that your parents simply speeded up your natural dominance development rather than re-trained an innate left handed dominance. They would have been incredibly diligent to make sure you never used your left hand and always your right if you were in fact naturally left hand dominant. The simple action of always putting an object in the right hand is not enough for re-training. For example, my mom would always put the crayon in my right hand, but then I would switch it to my left. When she tried to teach me to write my abcs, she would put the crayon in my right hand and try and guide me through the process, but I was adamant about using my left. Since she is very right handed, she couldn't really show me how to use my left hand. So, she bought a chalkboard on an easel and knelt behind me, guiding my left hand in her right hand. My point is that re-training a natural dominance in a child is frustrating and difficult so I would be surprised that anyone nowadays would bother re-training a child's natural dominance because left handed dominance carries much less of a stigma than it used to. Creeto's right about parents wanting their kids to be normal, but it is a lot of work to change dominance, so in my humble opinion, I believe you probably had some preference for your right hand and your parents just capitalized on it.

Anyway, here's my smoker:

Here's mine about 45min....

I need to figure out how to go faster and express ideas better...

It was supposed to look kind of like a dr. suess type world- little colorful birdlike creatures running away in the bottom left, a giant machine approaching them, scorching the earth and skies as it continuously moves forward. (and the teeth are supposed to look more like little mechanical eating arms- like mandibles, rather then teeth)
