Ive tried a thread regarding this before, so I will give it another shot. I need to have a cable attatched to a moving object. ( a sub rov alah The Abyss. The cable is attatched to the end of the sub, and the other to a surface vehichle. ( not seen )

I used a cylinder with ik spline attatched. And it moves beautifully. My problem is i need the cable to obviously stretch. When I try to attach one end to a stationary object, it dosn't get the appropriate effect. I know there is a tut on doing a mouse cable effect at 3dluv, but I cant get that to work either.

I am in a desperate way, as I badley need this effect for the job I am doing. Can anyone please help me on this.
