Usually I sketch people, so this was kind of weird... I wish I could make this look cool and stylized somehow, but my cartoony style isn't very developed. >_< 30 mins in photoshop with my handy dandy wacom. I'm a little disturbed recently because I got offered work retouching models and I was so so so excited about it, I even took off school for a little while, and then the guy never called me back. He still could, but I'm pissed off he hasn't for 2 days and I had to rant about it. >_< So just in case you guys were wondering, that's what I usually do, is fashion retouching, I'm just trying to start getting into digital painting, so if you could critique me ever, it would help. Sorry that was long, I try not to be a noob.

Hi! The Art Theories & Tutorial FAQ is excellent, you can see it here:http://forums.cgsociety.org/forumdisplay.php?f=166
Just hang around and talk to people and look at art and practice and it will all come together. It's slow but the key is to keep at it. :)

raradolly: My first digital sketch (http://art.jebas.us/bad-karma) was awful. In fact I was so bad that I often submitted scanned pencil sketches because then I could prove that I could draw. However, I stuck around, and got better.
You'll find a lot of encouragement here.

I've decided to bite the bullet! I've been lurking around the daily sketches, wanting to get more involved with drawing. I jumped into 3D Modeling without any real foundation in traditional art, and kind of regret it... Reading alot of what people have said, it would seem that committing oneself to practice and continual drawing is really the best way to improve. That said, be gentle. ;)
It's not always easy to be the early bird!
55 minutes using a wacom tablet and PS.

Here's mine, always too long (1 hour and 1/2 with Gimp and wacom).
A young worker in the first subway train. What did he do last night to look so tired ?
Has he been working like a dog, or partying with friends ?
