I need some help with making vertices align with the grid. I am trying to make a simple terrain for a game on the Unreal engine (the first [old] one). Just incase you don't know, you have to keep vertices on the grid for that engine if you don't want problems. So, I have this terrain about 1/4 of the way done and I decided that I should start building it correctly from now on (I haven't been paying attention to where the vertices are up until now). Is there any way I can select my object in Max and make all of its vertices snap to the nearest grid point? I know it has to do with the Snap Toggle rollout, but I don't understand what it's saying in the Help file (I have always been bad with understanding the Help file). Any help would be appreciated. :)

Btw, I tried to setup Max to be like Unreal Editor so I set Grid Spacing to 1.0 and Major Line Every Nth Grid Line to 8. That's how Unreal Editor is setup. Just tell me if there's anything wrong with that.

I don't know of a way to make native MAX snap to closest verticies. Scripting could nodoubt do it, but alas someone else must go in and save the day on that front.

I see no problem with you setting up your grids exactly like you want them btw.

..hm, actually, go check out Configure Grids and Units in the Configure menu (uh, I dont have MAX in front of me right now though so I cant verify I'm giving exact guidelines here). Anyway, go into the menu where you can set your units, then hit the button that's in there (Advanced unit setup?), and see if you can lower the accuracy-slider to an extent that will help you.
Again, as mentioned, I don't know if tha works or not. The idea is that maybe MAX will be able to lower the accuracy all the way down to only accepting whole numbers. Thus you can avoid the nasty, what, 12 decimals or whatever standard precision.
