TEXTURE will be changed soon ;)

model made in 3dsmax R4 with poly modelling and sub d's
it took me about one and a half hour :)

it is my first hi-poly model, for a short animation ;)

nice start for first model and all.

on suggestion pay close attention to anatomy and proportions
second of all its really heavy in polys, nothing wrong with that its just that you should have more detail with that type of count
for example, you have no mouth.
looks like it could be a stuffed animal right now. you might be going for that i dont know?

that just my opinion

I wasnt able to find dogs in any anatomy book... so I had to draw sketches ;) the legs on the pic look a bit too short, but thats because of the stupid pose ;)

little texture test
I think im going to make some detail with displacement and bumpmapping ;)

Nice dog, but I think the head is too round and also the neck should go smoothly in the body.
You get Veteran with 30 posts I think. Frequenter should be 100 posts.

If you're looking for advice, BlackZ, I would recommend you avoid bumpmapping, and especially displacement mapping, at this point, and focus on getting in more accurate anatomical details. Right now, it looks like a stuffed animal of some sort. Is this the look you're going for? You haven't said one way or the other.

If it's a stuffed animal, then perhaps a cloth-like texture would be appropriate, and maybe buttons for the eyes? (I can't see any difference between your first post and this recent one).

If it's supposed to be a real dog, I'm sure you can find a book about dogs, or even one on the breed you are trying to make, that would have pictures you can use as a reference. I would also recommend you find a place where dogs are (a local park, for example, or an animal shelter) and do a LOT of drawings to train your eye into seeing the details.

I could give some specific advice, but I think I'll wait until I know what you're shooting for here. :)

@jellyfish
there IS no difference between the 2 pics, but there were many before I uploaded the one shown above ;)
