View Full Version : cintiq 21wx in painter x zoom problem
milkweed 12-10-2008, 12:48 PM Sometimes I'll be painting in painter x when the scrolls that control zooming in/out on my cintiq 12wx will either stop working all together or only zoom in/out by .2%, which as you know could take a long time..i sometimes watch movies on my computer while i paint, could there be a conflict between my movie player and painter? if i restart the computer itll work fine with or without the movie playing but itll go back to messing up after a while...any help would be great..
oh and im in iraq so i dont have the option to watch a movie on my tv since i dont have one...lol...

The first thing Corel did when they bought Metacreations Painter was to mess up and gimp zooming, now you have to use Control + or Control - to zoom in or out, because you know, in their infinite wisdom they thought that this was better.
It happens on my Cintiq too, the zoom on the Touch Strip stops working or goes slow. I usually either click on another doc window, or minimise then maximise the working doc (not the program itself) and that tends to reset it. Mildly annoying.

Try setting custom keys for zooming. Set one of the keys to Control + and the other to Control - in Wacom's panel, it won't jump or conflict unless this is somehow a Cintiq only problem.

Might be driver issue. I have an Intuos3 and the same problem has mysteriously happened to me frequently over the past two months. Are you guys using Mac or PC?
I'm on PC - latest Wacom drivers installed. I think it happens on my Intuos3 too... but I don't use it as much as the Cintiq. Frankly it doesn't bother me that much.

Yeah it might be a driver issue in this case, but the zoom jumping from 25% to 1% is a Painter issue that's why we have to use the crtl+/- so that it goes to the zoom leves in between.
