View Full Version : ANIMATION: The Dude - 10 Sec Club
Slurry 06-19-2003, 05:44 PM Hey All,
Here is a clip I just made for last months 10 Sec Club. Unfortunately, I didn't start it until this month...and it's last month's entry!
I really wanted to work on the body language and didn't spend much time on the facial animation.
Hope you like it! Let me know what you think.

Animation was pretty decent, but given how well-known the movie the audio clip was taken from is, it just seems really, really unnatural to see this weird, skinny cartoon character speaking with John Goodman's voice. Odd choice of subject matter...

Hey Guys,
Fair enough. I totally understand what you are saying. Unfortunately, I am not much of a modeller. Just rig and animate for the time being so I am using the characters I have at my disposal for the 10 sec club and such.
Thanks for taking the time to respond!
Anyone else?

wow! you really captured goodman's slim, thin figure!
:p
seriously though, i liked the animation, even though some pars of it were rather harsh - like the spin before "im staying".
ill give you this though - you pick great movies to take clips from :p

big bad - The 10 Sec Club is a website you join and each month they supply a 10 sec (roughly) audio file for you to animate to.
You enter your animation and the rest of the members vote on which they think is the best for that month. A great way to stay motivated and practice your animation skills.
I have been busy and didn't start this animation until June although the sound file is for May's competition.
Check it out at http://www.10secclub.com
Take it easy...

ps - actually, I do know about those models. Many of them are great. I'd just rather animate than rig!
