View Full Version : how to unlink two objects during animation?
FabioMSilva 06-19-2003, 05:27 PM ok i got this model with an axe in his hand, then he throws the axe at a person. The problem i have is that when i take the axe ou of his hand he wont rotate or fly properly due to be linked to the models hand. how can i say 3DSMAX to unlink the two objects at that time?
thanx in advance

instead of linking the axe directly to the hand use a link controler, link it to the world when u want it to leave the hand.

i think you must link oyur objectes from the motion panel.

or you could have 2 axes, and just switch there visibility, bit of a bodge that tho!

Link Constraint would be your best bet. But watch out!! Max will crash if you link and unlink several times the same object.
