yeah, why not some of us form a 3D studio company where we only use Blender 3D? well, and PS and GIMP for textures, of course. :P

well, wait. would we have to have a college degree to be hired, tho?
well, we could all just be freelancers, i guess. anyways, what do you guys think?

heres a small concept i made for a short animation:

also, feel free to post your own concepts here. also, if you're interested, post your best creations you've made.

hmm... theres was just a I-Phone ad on TV... hmm... would it be possible for blender to create games for the I-Phone or I-Pod Touch?...
anyways, a game AND animation studio would rock!

You didn't suddenly learn a bit of Blender and got hyped up, thinking you will become the boss of a game company one day and earn big bucks did you ?

A game and animation studio ?

Making a game isn't just about graphics. All the pretty graphics is useless without interaction made possible with programming.

If you're going to sell that game then that's only half of making a game and animation studio, you'll need to know how to market your game.

Even if you are willing to make this game for free, the people that work with you need money to live, they aren't going to do it for free.

notice my join date...
i've been using blender for a year and a half.
and that concept isn't for a game. its for a animation...
and everyone would get a part of the payment when someone hires us...

heres a quick test of a quick hand rig:

Dude, Wake up and smell the java!

I am not going to tell you that you cant do what you want. Our limits are our dreams, but what your thinking will never happen. Look at my join date, and I have been using blender since 98. That's 1998. Almost 10 years now. I have seen this post 100 times. I have seen people like you even more. Use the program. Get good. Make a small animation on your own. Get better. Make a longer animation. Get GREAT! and people will ask YOU to join YOUR project.

You cant inspire people with low poly models and a crayon drawing. Get some more years of practice and then see where your dreams are. Reality will set in one day and you will understand where we are coming from.

weird how some people on one forum can be very rude, while on BA, they support me and help me out. maybe because they know me better...

and i really can't see how you can back any of that post up. it seems that u have made 3 threads on here, yet not one of them have any 3D models.

and i have animated alot. i just usually don't render it due to the length it takes to render. i also used to, and still do animate with flash. so i have experience in all of these things that you're telling me to do first.
some of u guys need to trust newer people for once, and give them a chance. i AM ready for this.

If you don't know who I am.. You have not been paying attention.

I am Enriqolonius on BA. search that.

I was not trying to be rude. I am just telling you what you need to hear at this stage in your learning.

I don't know who's being rude here.

You asked us what we think earlier:

We gave you our thoughts, but you're saying we're being rude.

If you don't want to read our thoughts, then don't ask in the first place I guess ?

Sure you're entitled to your dreams. You asked for our opinion. We gave you the realistic answer not the naive answer.

"When someone hire us"

Clarifying my point earlier: So if no one hires your "team". then your team is going to starve until someone hires you ?

People put their houses as a deposit to start their game company. Free lance artist doesn't exlcude you from paying taxes (in the country I live in at least), or are you telling you want to start a game & animation company to make free games ?

Also, as I said before, a game isn't just animation and pretty graphics. You won't have a game without a programmer.

---------------------

Alright. So you say you're ready for it. What you've currently shown us is only a picture you painted up, hardly any extra work that might show to others that you are serious.

If you want people to take your dream seriously, show them you're serious, show them concrete effort you put into planning and making the game, not just a sketch and a render.

Show us your entire strategy about making the game, each milestone, task breakdown, who's going to do what, when it's going to be completed, game concept documentation, market analysis (who to target the game for, why someone will buy your game instead of another game).

You haven't shown us very much. In your first post on this thread, you didn't sound very confident

e.g. "do we need a degree to be hired ?", "I guess we can be freelancers".

That to me sounds like you're hoping people will work for you / with you for free "until someone hires" your team.

Ask yourself this, if you were the investor, would you put your money on the line for someone who just showed you a sketch and a render of a character in their game ?

here's a little advice from my own experience.

about a year ago now i tried to start a freelance business with a couple forum buddies. one thing though - they were all in various parts of Europe and I think one was Australian. you can imagine how hard it was to keep in contact. our best option was Skype, but even so they were going to bed quite often when i was getting up. we went through the motions - got a domain name, set up a basic website, started on a portfolio. one by one, each member left to pursue other projects. the studio is now just a sole proprietorship of the guy who had the idea in the first place.

i'm currently now in the process of starting a partnership with two colleagues of mine. we've gotten more done in a week than i did with the other studio in two months. the difference? communication. if you don't communicate, nothing will get done. my advice to you is if you want to start a studio, get together with some blender buddies or other artistic friends and go that route. i'm not saying it's impossible to start a studio with people on a forum, but i find it much more effective and satisfying if the studio is "close to home".
