Title: Dragon Light Cathedral
Name: James Paick

This was done all in photoshop. It is for a personal project in the fantasy genre. I wanted to push mood and lighting with this piece to help establish an interesting atmosphere.
I hope you enjoy.

I know you were going for a fantasy look, and you certainly achieved it, but the glowing orbs kind of take some of the wow factor away for me. I would have preferred even more candles there. It's still magnificent.

I just don't know how you go about creating something as awe inspiring as this! It's truly stunning.

Man oh man ;) At first glance I thought there was a vast army on the ground, standing rank and file holding banners up - it gave the cathedral an immensity that was just awe-inspiring! When I saw upon closer inspection they were candles, it shrunk a little ;) That's not a criticism, it's just funny how a misinterpretation can give and image an entirely different feel.

MAGNIFICENT James. I don't have any other word for this incredible piece of work.

Wow, James, all three of your new works are stunning. I always thought your earlier works were without peer, but these new pieces actually take (some of) your older work down a notch.

It's not so much that your render technique has improved (it's always been pretty amazing), but your newer pieces are more strongly composed, which helps increase the drama of the scenes. These pieces are just mind-blowing. I sincerely hope you are working on a book of your artwork, a la Stephen Martiniere & Sparth.
