Hi,

Im new to corel painter and have been playing around with it for a couple of days...Im kinda stuck while trying to paint on transparent layers because nothing seems to be happening with all the brushes except for the impasto, watercolours and ink brushes.

Im comfortable working in photoshop so im using that logic here however Im not clear where the problem lies...Any help is appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

At the top of the Layers Palette there's a Preserve Transparency checkbox, check it and then uncheck it. There's a bug in Painter X that occasionally locks transparency while you're not looking and doesn't even bother to tell you.

The (Liquid) Ink, Watercolor and Impasto (to a certain extent) create special layers to work on, that's why they were working.
