Hi, everyone! First of all I would like to say how ecxited I am to enter this contest. It`s my first one and I`ll do my best to meet the instructions, learn a thing or two and most of all have fun :). Now, my idea is to depict a certain Scandinavian myth - Valkyries are an army of maiden spirits who fly over the battlefield to take the souls of fallen warriors and bring them to Odin - the chief Norse God. Of course it will take place in a modern environment (still not sure how to achieve the metaphore, but I have something in mind).

I would appreciate criticism. Thanks in advance and good luck to all of the contestants .

P.S. I know my concept art sucks but I think I will do better at the modeling part. ;)

Thank you all for the great comments. About posing - I am planning to upload a concept of the whole image with environment and so on at some point (i have the general idea already), but for now I`m all about modeling. I am going for a scary apocaliptic look with a kind of a funny side as to where my interpretation of the character intersects with the original myth :)

Software: Maya,mental ray,Photoshop,ZBrush

This is my final interpretation of the Valkyrie myth. Since I wanted to transfer it to modern time, I decided not to show a battle between armies, but the one between man and nature. I had the idea that the robot is hardly a sophisticated machine - it`s only designed to harvest souls and nothing else, so the mechanisms are quite simple, its movements- limited, but sufficient for it to do its job. This is what I got. I hope you enjoy it!
