I know there would be a feature that is on par with meshsmooth for maya but i have no idea what it is? Could someone please point me in the right direction? Thanks

In case you are comparing with 3dsmax meshsmooth ..well in Maya it Polygons > Smooth or Polygons > Smooth Proxy. Take your pick.
