View Full Version : VRML batch import
Akesson 06-18-2003, 02:59 PM Is it possible to somehow convert a folder full of vrml-files to one single file that Cinema 4D can read?
Or is it possible to write a small coffe-script that import all the files in a directory and place them in one document?
I have this cad-file exported to vrml, but it´s split up in several thousands of individual files, so it is virtually impossible to import all the files one by one.
I would really appreciate any help in this matter...
Cheers,
Peder

I dug up this old thread. I have the same question as the origional poster.
Using Cinema 4D 8.5. I need to import 200+ VRML files. Plus I would like the Null object to be the same name as the source vrml file for organizational purpouses.
Is this something that has been addressed in V9...maybe?
Anyone have and suggestions?
Thanks,

Okay then... give me a quote.
Specs:
Batch import any filetype Cinema can read. - I'm thinking it would work the same reguardless of filetype. If not then I just need VRML for now.
If import creates a parent Null. Parent Null is named the same as the source file minus the extension.
If import creates a material. Material is named the same as the source file.
Be sure we have the ability to import a single file and have the Null and Material renamed.

All I can say is...WOW! Thank you so much Katachi. It works beautifully.
To anyone else watching this thread. Contact this man if you need some plugin help. Don't sit there banging your head against the wall. In a very professional manner Katachi contacted me via email. We discussed the scope and tweeked a few things during development.
For a reasonable fee I have a working plugin that will save me much aggrivation. And oh yeah...Cinema 4D Rocks!:buttrock:
