Hi.
Thanks, for the comments in the other thread, when you hold down w, e, or r and LM in Maya 4.5 and above you get a marking menu that give you the choice to quickly switch between World or Local settings, right?

I'm new, but could I just customize the marking menus in
Maya 4 to do the same and give me the same options? I understand what I want, but I can't figure out how to customize LM marking menus. Could some kind Maya person please guide me through how to do this, I have looked at the help (F1) but it doesn't seem to show me how to customize these particular marking menus. Help.

Cheers.:surprised

Just go to "Window>Settings/Preferences>Marking Menus"

This will open up the marking menu editor. Select the particular hotbox or marking menu you want to change and select edit. (Let's say it's "Hotbox East")

From there you get a graphical representation of the layout. Just replace the existing tools with the ones you want to be there. (Just drag the tools icon, or a snipet of MEL into place over one of the hotbox icons.)

There's a step by step tutorial in the "Essentials" pdf that's pretty good. It gives all the specifics on things too.

Yeah, I mean the menu you get when you hold, w, e or r and hold the left mouse button.
These menus don't appear in the Window>Settings/Preferences>Marking Menus, there are only about 6 in here to edit, where are all the others? There are loads of marking menus in Maya can you only edit the Hotbox ones??
