arvid 06-18-2003, 03:31 PM Hey, does anyone know if it's possible to control the visibility toggle (the eye) with an expression?
cheers

Why not simply use the opacity channel?

I'd like make some foolproof settings for this project as it contains a lot of versions of the same film, different logos etc. It would be a quick way to make sure the correct logo is displayed in each of the versions by simply toggling a master-layer and have the update ripple through the entire project. I could use opacity (no pun intended) in a transform effect (since the opacity channels are allready animated), but I'd rather use layer visibility, thus the question cus I wasn't sure it's possible ;)

Me thinks that the visibility toggle is just there to make life a bit simpler for us... No way to animate it... Sorry...

You could throw in a layer that each object of the different versions reference.
In other words you could throw in a solid (it could be null or whatever) object with a name of "objects_a" and have the other objects reference it with this code : this_comp.layer("objects_a").opacity
obviously the expression needs to go in the opacity channel...
