I have 2 work assignments, two characters in the works, a tutorial to write, a child to raise, a wife to love and please, groceries to buy, bills to pay, grandparents to call, shelves to dust and a ham to cook and slice... BUT NO!!!! I have to model and light this stupid vase... you sir... ARE the bastard. Maybe if I don't think about it for a few hours I'll give it up.

listen people - I kept the joke alive for one hour. itīs not that I won a cg-talk award with a fake image or gained money out of it. so keep it down on the ground.
for sure it would be uncool if this would constantly happen and if one must doubt every realistic image coming in. but as far as I know this place, this never happened here before (or does anyone know another case of haevy-faking in this forum???) - so give it an originality bonus.
or if you dislike it than enjoy doing so

For originality, I can't give you any credits, this has been done before, to even greater extensts as trying to manipulate a photo of a car to make peple think it was CG. I know its all in good fun, but this does cause issue as to artists integrity, which may not seem to come up too much in the 3D end, but has come up a lot in the 2D, so generally this type of humor is discouraged. n Its mainly ca concern of someone doing something realistic and being accused of faking is unfair, but these types of pranks cause doubt in peoples minds.
If you guys want to fool around test your CGrecognizing skills go to the alias wave front site, they have a small test where they show a bunch of images, some are real some are not. its really quite fun, a little challenge but overal not too hard IMO. I got them all right.
