View Full Version : Blue Flame
drice 12-01-2008, 04:54 AM Does anyone have a recipe for a good flame? I don't need motion but I can't get the transparency and falloff correct. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks. -Derryl

you might get more help if post an image of what you have so far for us to look at,
otherwise, suggestions might not be helpful

Falloff and transparency? Are you making a flame material?
For a non-moving shot, I would use a picture. Using the green channel as alpha usually gives nice results. You can use the image on a billboard in Animator or just add it in photoshop.

Thanks Rick, that's good to know. Actually the POV does move but the flame doesn't need to be animated. So that probably wouldn't work.
VRUSH, do you know how those flames were created? Do they require special plugins? Thanks.

The flames on the EI site are created with the Fire plugin. Works very well, I used it for a blue flame for a power company logo a couple of years ago. That's when flaming logos were the rage! :)
