I'm currently working on a Spider-Man Model.

Im just completely lost as to how to approach doing the weblines properly on his costume.. like how to i even begin to mape that out? is there any advice on anyone whos worked on spiderman before? thanks.
I'm a tad confused about my other textures on other models and such.. does the scale of the model effect the pixelation of the texture map your using? (a png, tiff or pcx)

i dont currently have that problem right now, but i dont want to run into that issue when creating spidermans texture.

whats the general rule of thumb for texture size?

You can't go wrong with Bodypaint. http://www.maxon.net/pages/products/bodypaint3d/bodypaint3d_e.html

Use a 8k texture to be sure of quality. Will slow render down though.
