I'm still used to this forum accepting finished works ... so I'm assuming that it's not WIP because of the signature. However, it could be better if you do work on it some more.

I like the loose painterly style, but feel that it could be tightened up a bit more in some place that creates a focal point. Since the whole character is in the same state of unfinished-ness (yeah I know I'm making up words now), the eye doesn't focus anywhere and just kind of roams the image randomly.

In most cases I'd also say that the white background should be eliminated in favor of a neutral base color. But, as a character design I think it works out pretty well on this image.

Post an update if you do work on it some more, and of course ... Welcome to CGTalk! :wavey:

I REALLY like it:buttrock:. Do you have experience with actual traditional painting (ie, brush and canvas)? If so, do you find that painting "simulators" (such as Painter) enable you to follow a very similar process?

Try describing your forms with less strokes from the start.
