if i have a lambert shader for example with a layerd texture going into the color, isnt there a way that i can for example disable the layerd texture? this way i dont have to delete it? im sure maya has something like this, i think i saw this in the AW advanced shader networks. but i have forgotten that video. any ideas?

in the lambert shader's attribute window right click over 'color' and choose break connection or go through the Hypershade and delete the connection between the layered texture node's output and the color.

use the Hypershade window once again to connect the two nodes.

no you dont have to delete anything. In your attribute editor go to your lambert shader and RMB on 'color' the name and go 'ignore during rendering'.

also you can go to Highend3d and theres a script that will automate this for all shaders and attributes...
