If it is aimed at kids, you watch, Megatron will not be a gun, and that will just be the begining of the 'changes to suit the audience of today'

Oh well if Don Murphy's not doing Astroboy anymore, this would be my second choice!

I hope they use the original theme tune and sound effects!

Just as long as Optimus Prime turns into an 18-wheeler, its on!!:buttrock:
My boy was telling there was a controversy over the old Megatron. YOu know even when I was a kid I always felt he look likeA REAL GUN.

Actually, if they were to get all PC about it, it could make sense to have a gun as the "bad guy"

My boy was telling there was a controversy over the old Megatron.

Yeah, I remember that. When Megatron was first issued, it was a Walther P38, solid metal, very well constructed, in a chrome and black finish with sniper extensions. The one from Japan could actually fire plastic bullets. It was kind of small, when in gun mode it never held really together well, but it certainly did look real (why I liked it so much). Later, they totally changed the build to a cheap plastic, that was bright grey, black and white.

I tried to buy an original last summer but they run between $150 -$300 nowadays, depending on the condition and whether or not all the stickers are still there.

well how the damn heck are the autobots gonna fight the decepticons anyway? they're gonna thumb wrestling all the way till someone opens primes matrix? Megatron should be a gun.All the bots carry guns themselves. But no one ever died in the show, except for the movie

You can always get the Japanese reissue at online toystores or eBay

The new reissue Megatron also includes an additional special 'energy axe' to simulate the fight between Optimus and Megatron at Sherman Dam in the first few episodes of the TV show. :)

I've read that the producers are pushing to have all guns removed from the film...along the lines of Spielberg's gun-free version of ET.

So apparently, Megatron now transforms into a super soaker.

Hmmm...I hope it has the following in it...

1) Metroplex.
2) Unicron.
3) That "Wolf" head-master...
4) Ravage.
5) Jet( or whatever that big, white, transformer was called...).

...does anyone remember the comic which had those funny space-pirates? I think it was the only one with Metroplex in it...he basically saves the day...being massive an'all!:bounce:

Anyone got a transformer annual book ? It is full of dark stories. For instance in one comic all the dinobots die. It also describes the history of the transformers in detail. Pretty cool.

anyways, really looking forward to the movie, just hope they keep the darker side of the transformers as well, just because its part of it.

Can't wait :p

There's already a studio attached to the special effects, Angry Films or something like that. I never heard of them.
