maybe make it look less like a solid hunk of plastic and show some inside details. Like were you have the seams - maybe split them apart a little so you can see some of the inner workings. The it will seem more like a shell covering a robot.

I guess it all depends on the style you are going for --

just an idea -

if you are going for a concealed inner structure then check out this robot from honda .
