Hi Guys, finally we decided to join forces for this Challenge.
we want to make the norse myth gods but with steampunk style, so here is the concept for one of the gods, Tyr

Hi Guys, here i attach some concept update
Simjoy : hi there, thanks dude, im gonna post the story now :)
Pooyag : all the credits for concepting goes to my friend kw3k :)
Ragnarok: War of the gods (temporary title)
the idea here was to make the gods are only mortal and they are just human in powersuit, so they could die as well
the story will goes like all the gods are dead, and they have put into a cryogenic tube, only Odin and Tyr are the last one, and they are waiting for the final battle with odin's nemesis (fenrir), and then fenrir will come bashing the front door, and finally they will be facing each other, with Tyr help finally odin going face to face with fenrir
well thats the rough story for now, i'll be making the complete version later when the story boards done,

btw, the hands seems slightly too big, not sure if that was intentional

I like those char..., especially the odin, looks wise and natural
but i found something weird on tyr's abdomen muscle, the chest, and scapula, its not wrong, but doesnt look natural, if u want to tweak it a bit, it would be perfect... :thumbsup:
anyway, i really love the design... cant wait to watch the clip... :)

So far from the WIP u show, If i may put some comment, the odin look great, and to make it look better and convinving u can put some "beef" and underlying structure in the chests and other muscles...:D

Fantastic work on modeling and shading.
It's just the hand it's kinda strange and very big - did you do that intentionally?

fgdf : hi dude, the hand is not intentionally big, it suppose to be mechanical arm, maybe my friend made it to be a guide to make the mechanical arm, so he didn't need any hand, but yeah, soon we gonna replace that hand into the mechanical arm

Im really liking the texture work u guys got going on so far. Question, are u guys using zbrush and max? I ask because i always use maya but for this project i switched to max and was wondering about the diplacement/ normal extraction from zbrush to max ( We're working on Thor vs. Argus btw) Thanks.

hi sburto20, yes we use zbrush and max, for this one we didnt use displacement map, coz it will be too heavy for rendering, so we just use normal map
for the normal map i think you could use the zmapper that already integrated in zbrush or maybe you could try xnormal
and for the skin you could try mojette tutorial for sss skin shader with mental ray, its at www.zbrushcentral.com, i'm sorry that i cant give you the link for now, i think zbrush central is down for now, but you should have no problem on finding the tutorial, good luck mate
