The scene just has a skylight (white, mult 1.0) and I'm using Final Gather, the setting for which is posted below.
I want to have the same light setting for both exterior and interior, without having to use separate settings for rendering each. Problem is, even though the exterior is now suitably bright, the interior is not as bright as I want it to be.
Diffuse Bounce value above 5 didn't do any significant help. If I simply increase the Multiplier value for Final Gather it would brighten up the interior, but the exterior would then be way too bright.
Another problem is regarding the grainy quality of the image. Other than touching some sampling options, I am not quite sure about how to remedy this.

And here I bow before experts requesting to share their wisdom. :)
