View Full Version : Reactor Cloth help needed
Beobrand 06-17-2003, 07:58 PM I have created a cloth and attached it to the hands of the model. When the animation is run the cloth falls in a realistic manner, but the bit connected to the hands always reacts as if there are invisible boxes around the hands/arms. This is annoying, as I want the cloth to be falling languidly down the back of the woman, not blowing and billowing out. The image is going to be a still, not an animation, so I am not bothered about how the animation looks, just one frame.
Thanks.

the invisible boxes are probably caused by the womans collision mesh, view it in the preview window and show the bounding boxes to see what there doing.

Thanks for the reply. I haven't got 3ds max in front of me at the moment, so I can't check the bounding boxes yet. But if I find that they are wrong, how do I edit them?

I haven't got max in front of me either, but have a look through the documentation for settings, basically the collision mesh (your figure) has a buch of different setting for how cloth can interact with it, it can have a bounding box (with different settings) or you can use the mesh exactly.
under simulation geometry>Convex >use mesh convex hull is probably the one you'll need.
Hope this helps. :)

Thanks again, but I've tried it and it doesn't seem to make any difference...
