Does Anyone know the cycle ID expression for clips??

Something along the lines of

this+CID*stride_length

OK, I know its not set in stone :P

I realised the problem; Ive animated the character walking on the spot, so anyone know an expression to animate the globalSRT forwards during the cycle to stop foot slippage?!

store in a clip just the wanted transforms for whatever you are using for global SRT and eventually turn that animation data off in the clips you want to correct.
would that do or did I misunderstand the question ?

If I animate the SRT then I get a load of foot slippage as the clip stays on the spot. The examples that I can find use a clip that takes steps forward...

I tried hand keying every fram, but Id lprefer some scripting that could replicate that for me :D

foot slipping is an error inside the cycle, not a problem with your global transforms.
I fear there's little that could be of use if you don't correct the contents of the clip to prevent this.

once an on-spot-cycle is correct all you need to do is set a 2 keyframes for the global translation at the start and end of the cycle (exactly as long as your stride at the heel), make the Fcurve linear and set it to relative cycle.

try to do so to preview the forwardwalk and tweak the clip's contents to fix the slipping.
