Title: Dragon Fafner and the Nibelungs' Treasure
Name: Simone Jennarelli
Country: Italy
Software: CINEMA 4D, Vue

[Attention: it's 1024x768 and must be viewed 100%]
Homage to the Great Orchestra Conductors George Solti and Daniel Barenboim.
Inspired by the famous Wagner's Opera "Siegfried" from the "Nibelung's Ring", here a portrait of the Dragon Fafner with the Nibelungs dwarves' Treasure in the cave of Fafner. Fafner was once a giant, but, after having killed the other giant Fasolt to have the complete control over the Nibelungs' treasure, he became a Dragon to watch his treasure better.
The Model of the Dragon has been modeled in Shade. The Nibelungs' Treasure has been modeled with Cinema4D and then imported in Vue 6 Infinite and automatically duplicated many times and randomly by creating a special Vue 6 populated "EcoSystem" Treasure Material (about 14.000 instances). The Cave has been modeled directly in Vue 6 Infinite. Lights, Dragon Skin Material, all other Materials and Multiple Renderings with Vue 6 (HDR Light) and Final Composite with Photoshop.
The Model of the Dragon and of the treasure are inspired by original Ancient European and Roman Vth century AD basreliefs and archaeological pieces.
"Ich lieg' un Besitz, lasst mich schlafen!" / "Here I lie and here I hold [the treasure]; let me sleep!" are the famous words pronounced by Fafner in the Wagner's Opera "Siegfried".
