Title: Indian Summer
Name: San Base
Country: Canada
Software:

This image is a static screenshot of the dynamic picture. The Dynamic Paintings can be considered a generative art - an art that has been generated algorithmically by a computer system. However, they are more than that. First of all, they are exceptional art design concepts brought to life using the latest in computer technology. Unlike all other generative art examples that account for just a few basic artistic principles and require very little artist input, the Dynamic Paintings are truly creations of an artist. This is what sets it far apart from any other works in this area. One can think of Dynamic Painting technology as a new medium - a new form of canvas and paint.

I'm curious about this and what sets it apart from other fractal generators.

I would like to see the still image (what represents the "artist input"). What are the other artistic principles you mention? I'm curious about this and what sets it apart from other fractal generators.

First of all, dynamic painting is not a fractal generator. Artist can use some elements of fractals but also he can create the painting without fractals (in other words without recursive iterations).
The second point: the still image (I suppose that you mean some 'initial' image) does not exist. The artist creates algorithm which creates image instead of creating the image directly. So the dynamic painting is a computer code. Any dynamic picture has an own unique code.

From my webside:

An artist begins creation of a Dynamic Painting by conceiving an idea for the painting, selecting basic colors, shapes and principles of their development over time. Unlike a conventional painter, the artist has to think in one more dimension to properly design the evolution of images as the painting would develop. Using a wide array of techniques that have deep roots in the styles of conventional paintings, an artist converts the brush strokes into algorithms that can precisely convey his original design of a digital painting. Once the Dynamic Painting has been designed and programmed, it is up to a powerful computer system to bring it to life. In a computer, each painting starts its life with an original idea described in a precise mathematical way that governs the shape, color as well as many other parameters of the generated image. This algorithm represents the "DNA" of the picture. Just like the DNA of a living organism, with a slight mutation, the image algorithm can produce an infinite number of unique paintings. A carefully devised "mutation" algorithm uses a computer to generate a series of distinct images that follow the style and concept of the original painting. This "mutation" process can be slowly animated over time to produce a fluid motion within the element of a painting; producing a magnificent never-ending and never repeating show.

VERY interesting. Thanks for the explanation.
