View Full Version : USATODAY: Celebrities morphing into video-game stars

"The hottest spot for star-gazing these days? Try the cyberspace gaming realm. Virtual versions of stars such as Christina Aguilera, Method Man and Alex Trebek are popping up in video games, and it looks like a lot more digi-stars are headed there.
Just last week, Justin Timberlake met with gaming industry insiders for the first serious step toward video-game options, including using his digital image in a game."

Ok so like we got this idea... It will be great... graphics... zoom... splash freaking out over there and here... we through in som pop star..... and it will be a hit....
But sir what about the plot?
- ... who needs plot no one cares abot that just make the game like I said and it will sell...and oh yeah get that girl you know the one with the blond hair and the..yeah...
:annoyed:
I got a great idea for a game.... well it may lose its novelty after some time... but like take deer hunter whatever.... and change it and call it "Hunt the celebrity" and like you get a set of standerd people you would like to shoot like Carson daily, Spears, Dixie Chicks, I don't konw and other people. Then your given like a aresonal of weapons; few hand guns, few assualt rifles some other pesudo fancy weapons. Enough variety at least fo the first game cause you know they will want to market and sell a sequal. But so long as the main point of the game is to destroy them i may play...
Throw it on the xbox and get new content like new celebs or special weapons. I bet someone at a company has at least joked about this.

...speaking of Justin

Unsettling, on so many levels...
Thanks to Twilight, who was first (of many) to point out the Seattle Times article

on Justin Timberlake's visit to Bungie. I thought about leaving this in the forum, but how could I pass up journalism like this?
He thrilled the Bungie team by signing autographs and multiplaying with them. They, in turn, tried to wow him with their latest game, Brute Force.
I haven't received the flood of outraged emails from Bungie employees who were shocked at this representation yet... but I'm guessing that's because they haven't stopped laughing long enough to type. (For those keeping score, no, Bungie did NOT create Brute Force.)

Another ridiculous news on videogames by clueless journalists. None of the games featuring those "artists" are any popular, period. Nobody wants to see their mugs in videogames, and no game will sell because of any of their presence, it might even reduce the sales (actually, it most certainly would). Who do they take gamers for?
