View Full Version : Environment map reflection animation problem..please help!

I have a scene in which I have a fairly big grid with a texture reflecting a spherical environment map. The problem is when I animate the camera scrolling across this grid the reflection doesn't scroll, it is the same in every frame....so it looks buggy. Is there are way for me to have this have some sort of position to it, so I can glide pass parts of the reflection?

A spherical lookup is unaffected by position, only by angles.
You could animate the texture's offset or something else in your rendertree or simply link it to the camera's position to artificially introduce reflection changes while you move, but the end result, if the reflections are so noticable, might take some tweaking before it's believable.
