I just finished the wheels for the most part, still need to put in the brakes etc, but I thought I would render it before I head off to vacation.

Right now I'm tweaking the tread and tire wall so they blend together a tad better. just some quick materials for the render

Mhmmm, nothing like an underpowered, torque-lacking, front wheel drive "sports" car.
All joking aside, the modelling is looking great, and the wheel looks great. Just don't add any unneeded mods such as a giant wing. (Do all those ricers know they're just adding drag and weight, not to mention in some cases taking traction away from the front (drive) tires?

dont worry, there will be no bookshelf on this, and it will not be a ricer :)

Looks good! and I hope you stick to your word, about no rice :)
are those supposed to be the actual lugs on the wheel? if so, they need to be shaped like a lug, not just round.

youd be surprised how a very select few of these 4-bangers kill modern V8s.
still, a nice model.
very clean.
cant wait to see how you model the mesh in the grill.

and don't dis frontwheel drive, it has more control and handeling then any rear wheel drive only car/truck/van/suv out there. (its physics don't try and argue that)
HOWEVER that being said, i don't like honda's AT ALL (goo hyundi!sp?)
but this model is nice, I love the look it is getting from the render.

Sorry, but that is just incorrect. While FWD can be better on low traction surfaces, and is better for novice drivers because it responds well to the knee jerk reaction of slamming on the brakes when the car looses traction, for performance driving and racing it pales in handeling to RWD for a number of reasons. Think about this: There are 4 forces acting on a tire, trying to make it loose traction. These can be broken up so the forward force of accelleration is acting on the rear wheels and the lateral forces (steering) is acting on the front wheels. Or you can put all those forces just on the front wheels, which one is going to loose traction first? Why are all professional racing cars RWD?
For more reasons:

Looking fantastic. The detailing is superb. As far as paint goes, I'd like to see a nice and shiny white paint job with black trim when you get to that point. Maybe give the wheels a magnesium look to them as well. What kind of environment do you think you'll put it in? On a side note, the car reminds me of a cartoony basketball shoe for some reason.
jamjammo - you'd be suprised by how much money and effort it takes to get a 4 banger civic/integra as fast as a V8. After all, you're taking a car that isn't meant to be a sports car and trying to make it one (which I suppose is why some people do it)
Bitmap: Rubbish, just pure rubbish. Why is it basically every series in the upper echelon of racing use RWD cars? Surely if FWD is so superior, then Formula 1 cars would use it, wouldn't they? Not to mention the fact that the physics involved with racing are actually in favor of a rear wheel drive car.

I know a couple things that I will already be improving, such as black lining around the side rear windows, maybe some defroster wires across the rear window. I tried color correcting my monitor tonight so that I will be sure what I'm seeing is what other people are seeing, so hopefully you guys will be seeing the right colors. Anyways, please rip apart what I have so far so that I may improve it

Please help me which options you used at the glass of the car and inside the lamp (chrome).
Would you be so kind to send the two materials given by spheres as a .max file?
this is my e-mail.
