Good evening,
I'm creating some materials in maya 2008 for a WIP car rendering with mental ray and I found this issue, does anybody know an easy way to fix this situation?

Its a blinn glass shader; when I turn on refractions under ray trace options, part of the mesh just desappears, when turn off the option I lose big part of the glass effect in the material...

Thank you very much for your time.

Why not use the mia_materials? Easier for fresnel and whatnot.

Other than that I'd say to check the normals and the refraction depth for the materials.

Tks, normals and depth are ok, I don't really know mental ray materials, I will check tutorials and books. Cheers!

It was actually very easy, the visible in reflections and refractions option was unchecked in the mesh. Tks again for your time!
