View Full Version : Is Body Paint worth it???
modestmouse 06-17-2003, 05:03 AM I am getting XL and I was wondering if it was a must to also buy Body Paint at some point or if UV Mapping will do for short or just long term.
And how muchbetter is Body Paint than regualr UV?

imo bodypaint is a great tool. especially the automatic mapping function and the 3d painting mode.
I heard rumours of a new version coming out. Can anyone verify?

If you're planing to do textures, its worth the money, specially now as they reduced the price (details on maxons site).
It does a bit more than UV-Mapper and a good paintprorgram can do.... but its tightly integrated in the workflow and you're much, much faster that way

There is no rumor, there is a version testing, maxon was looking for Maya users to test a maya itegration Noithing other then that has been said, or can be unless a maxon emplyee says it.
As for is it worth it, I can't stand UV editing in C4d without it, the UV editing abilities are llmited to actually unwrapping the mesh itself a,d applying frontal generating the UV's and then moving the UV tag oto the original mesh. For paint I honestly still used photoshop 95% of the time, used BP for touching up seams and such. I still felt it was worth it, not to mention if you use max or LW you can stil use it.
And it with a new versionin the works, who knows what kind of upgrade offer there will be.
don't forget thuogh there is a special BP sale right now, buy R8 and get bp for 99euros I think, something like that
