View Full Version : Character: Flamethrower
ThunderTurtle 06-17-2003, 03:03 AM This is one of my latest characters. It was modeled as part of the polygrinder film project at my school(Art Institute of Dallas). Modeled and Rendered in 3D studio Max 5.
He's really finished except for maybe some texture upgrades and a pose for my demo reel(Which should be online soon along with my new website as I look for a job)
You can also find more information on polygrinder at www.polygrinder.com
Comments, Crit, Ideas and general ramblings are welcome.
Thanks all.

I like this character alot, he looks disturbed :)
since your ok with comments ill say that I like the upper body alot but the lower body I would change.. maybe different pants and some other type of boot, something more military.
your already gonna give him a texture upgrade and im hoping its on the flamethrower, the tank would probably look alot better if you couldnt see thru it imo.
I hope you stop by when its all done, would be kewl to see it finished :p
I just noticed something...where are the ears? hehe... Just wondering. besides that it looks cool.

i didn't draw ears on this character. he burned them off as a kid (a friend got ahold of my sketchbook and added em in later).
yeah. i drew it.
good work man. would like to see more of my stuff modeled. if i had known anyone was going to model it i would have made some decent orthos.
*for everyone else on the site
heres all he had to work with (my shitty little sketch):

it's impressive to me that you could create something so cool from so little info. you nailed it in my opinion.

rofl, the teddy is cute. If he burned his ears off when he was a kid, shouldn't there be some scars or something?
very cool character.

The face and hairs a bit wierd but the body's great. Actually I find the face and hair very cool. It adds a lot of 'character' to him. And of course I love the teddy, nice detail ;)
