wanted to model an Anime style Character long time ago, but didn't really have good theme for her, thinking this is a good time to challenge myself.

basic character model is refer to a famous artist as a guide, and design her costume and gears on the basic.

Nice character design overall. It's hard to read what's going on in her right hand... in fact, without your pencil sketches, it looks like that is her right hand! And her back foot is twice as long as her front foot. But some of the details, like the bodice and the face, are really attractive. What myth or legend is she going to be a part of?

really thanks for the support from every of you, i started this competition quite late i think, so have not much time wondering around plus i have to work in day time. So i decided to start with a character...well not following any myth or legend i can say :p
Basically you can tell she actually is a hero type of character, because i like a japanese character "kamen raider" very much, so i draw a red sarf on her neck.

But i will sure try my best to think of one during the free time in weekend, hehee!

take this character as a 1st guide, i further design her steampunk gadgets like back pack, shoulder armor, and right hand's drill type weapon as well.

Ideally if have enough time i will put something on the background, hopefully can finish this in time and try to push it to the limit. can consider a challenge for myself also .

This is the back pack for my character, still modelling right now, trying to implement steampunk thingy into it, my scanner not working, so i will not showing any of the back pack sketches this time.

any comment about this also welcome, as in things will be change for better look. ^^

Hi, i have think of a story for this character. currently im drawing her a new costume to fit this story of Archangel Michael. This picture show how an archangel looks like.

i will keep the backpack for her, and add wings on the backpack, although she is an angel, but because this is base on steampunk era, so i have decided to put some logic on her. she will be my steampunky Archangel in the story to detroy those demon soldiers ^^

a compositing drawing will follow up soon.

Hi, im on my way of making hair, this is the 1st time i use this method to do hair making, not sure can i achieve what i want in the end.

Using Gabriel for a look of your character is perfect. The jetpack with small wings would be a better fit like your sketch. If the wings are to big it will take away from the mechanical look. Good job. I need to move on my project is already days behind that I can't get back.

This is my new left arm design for the Archangel, steam generator on the shoulder pat, and start from the wrist that will be a machine palm. which for boost up power on her left hand.

i have test out some skin tone using normal mental ray material, and draw out the eye in photoshop to get the feeling for my final face texture, here is the result that i will achieve. hope you all like it.

The girl is really cute! although I think the jet engines are not steampunk enough IMHO propellers are much more suitable, have you considered adding more steam-based elements? otherwise this could be close to a futuristic piece, just my 2 cents

Nice character u have .The face is very cute and i like the design o lot . It has plenty of details though i think a skarf(cloth) around her neck would be a good addition to the dynamic.
Also i like the small wings that adds to the style.
