View Full Version : Vehicle : Mazda MX5
Bleed 06-17-2003, 12:01 AM Well this is something I have been working on for a couple of days now and would like some comments on things that could be improved/changed.
This is only my second model, and I am still learning :)
Its modeled in Maya 5.0 using mainly NURBS except for parts of the wheels/tyre as it seemed easier to do using polys.

Hah, this car is cute li'l Bad@$$ :D
-The shape of the headlights require major fixes (At first I thought I was looking at S2000! :D)
-Tires don't look right
-It's missing the foglights!
-Also, the crease (Not actually crease, but 'fold') on the bottom of door should be thicker and deeper.

Could you post some other views, too?
(I think I can see the wobbly rear :p)
Anyhow, looking good so far, since I think you got the basic shape right!
Keep it going! :scream:

I agree, The car is bad@$$.
Adding to what mqkmn said, I see the rear fender is a little messed up. There is a minor little bump that makes the fender not smooth like. You might also wanna add the top container thingy as the way the rear fender/trunk cuts into the interiors looks weird.
Not bad for a 2nd modelled car.
It'd be cool if you can lower it, add bigger wheels and a bodykit. Give it that ricer fast and furious look ;)

Thanks for the comments. I have reworked the front lights so hopefully the shape looks better. I have also made the fold around the side of the car a bit more obvious.
@ mwkmn : The model is the older version than the one in your pic, it hasn't got the front fog lights or the scoops in the front bumper.
@ heiyuu : Once I finish the model I will mod it :)
here are a few new pictures

Ahh, I see.
The headlights look much better now, but still needs some works.
The problem on the sides still remains...
...and the rear mesh looks somewhat 'unstable'
Keep it going! :scream:
