Yeah, that's a problem at work for me too, adjust your monitor and you'll see. On a calibrated monitor it looks fine.

I think u need to lighten the shadows (like global illumination does).

I have a calibrated monitor and its still way to dark for a living room. Are there no windows in this room?
The shadows should be more softly defined and lighter, for an interior scene.

Well, I can see just fine. But I'll throw an area light in there to simulate a window, but there weren't supposed to be any windows in there because it was supposed to be a home cinema room. I'll update the image later today if I can still find the MAX file...
