May be I take the steam punk a bit too literary lol.

the nice bone system in blender made it easy for me to parent the movingparts to the bones, for easier adjusting the wheels might do a small animation too ;) lol

the train is looking pretty good :)
i'd suggest smoothing out the terrain, maybe adding a subsurf modifier too.
you might want to do loop cuts (ctrl R) on parts of the cliff to maintain that layered look
anyway, good luck!

Wow, that's an interesting and unusual scenery! I'm very intrigued to see it lit and shaded!

thx for the comments, lights I havent realy thought about just wanted to see how the hole looked lighted from within. Atmosphere i havent thought about yet probably some brooding gray sky, typically english or a misty night scene.

this basic shape will be used to create the punkers that will demolish the train while riding to theire doom, Im thinking of adding a malcom and vivienne seated in a half destroyed pullman wagon , and a roadsign saying "NO SEX PLZ, WE'R BRITISH". :p

tried to upload a second pic, but the uploader is malfunctioning tried 7 times but no luck, i know u must wait for 90 sec. I did well over that but still no show ;(

whats with the uploader, again i get an error uploading my second picture?
I work for 5 hours then i want to upload my progress and i can only upload one small pic whats up with that? If you want to bottle neck the uploading for security reasons at least make it possible to upload 3 pics an hour. so artist dont get pissed off by it.

train to be demolished by the punks, how much im not sure yet. main reason is that the wagon obstructs the view into the abeis.

hmmm.
three things I'd suggest:
1) add some textures to the ground! you can find some nice ones at cgtextures.com but procedurals could work too
2) you could take out that part of the green mesh that intersects the grey area.
3) the lighting looks like it needs work. try using AO :)

tried uploding via the special .jar uploader but it doesnt work again? can i upload it trough ftp again as we did by the strange behaviour challenge?
I hope I get an email with login info again , as it sucks not to be able to upload the final render. its only 1.4 mb so why not upload the pics the same way as the wips?

FTP system is not being used in this challenge, as was explained several times in the Final Upload details thread. We are using the uploader. If you cant run the uploader, you will have to send me your cgtalk username and password along with your final image and information and I will submit it for you.
