View Full Version : Problems in Perspective view with X,Y and Z

When i start a new project in 3ds max everything goes as plan but at a moment the values of the X, Y and Z coordinates are big numbers(like for example : X = 114592,65 and Y= 31364,50). When i want to move the vertices in perspective view it takes a big jump out of my screen. I work with polymodeling and i have no idea what the problem is , it only gets bigger because when i work further at a point when i want to rotate my object starts to shake heavily.
:hmm:
I only have the problem in my perspective view. I lose much time when i can't work in the perspective view. I reinstalled 3ds max but the problem still stays.

hi protjor,
chances are it's because of the scale of your scene. When an object is a long way from 0,0,0 (the world) the error/rounding for it's transforms become large enough to be a pain in the butt. Idealy keep your scenes smaller.
Personally I would do most of your modelling in a user view but everyone has their own personal preferences on this one. Does the problem persist in a user view?

not a solution i'm afraid but something to keep in mind when planning your scenes.

sorry :)

Tnx, in user view and don't have the problem.
But i find it rather strange that my scene goes so big , it's only a car, especially when i do cuts at the car the problems starts to arise.

It's indeed better to work in user view, i gained a lot of time so.
Tnx:thumbsup:
