Hello all, I have a favour to ask;

I'm working on an animation and am using 3ds max 9 hair (big mistake...), scanline renderer, and light tracer. Everything is going reasonably well except I can't seem to get rid of a little white nimbus that appears around the outside of my character's face and dress when it is occluding her hair. Does anyone know how to remedy this? Any help would be much appreciated. A jpg should be attached to this post if everything goes according to plan.

Thanks alot in advance

Well I suspected that it might be due to the anti-aliasing. What I believed was happening was that the face/dress/hand is anti-aliasing to the background (which is white) and as the hair is done as a completely seperate pass (i'm using buffer hair) it was putting the hair behind the face but the whitish anti-aliased edge on the face was still in front of it. I figured then that it could be solved by simply turning off anti-aliasing in the renderer and then doing it later when I comped it. I have however discovered that this is not the case as even when I turn it off in the renderer I get a 1 pixel wide jagged line around the face/dress/hand.

So I remain at the mercies of kind samaritans to lend me their wisdom :)
